OMG! This is soooo cool! I ordered it for a gift because it looked like a good toy for an infant and because of the outstanding reviews. Well, let me tell you, I'm glad the shower is tomorrow because I can't stop playing with it! My inner child likes the pretty colors, cute catepillar face on the handle, and the 7 great classical melodies -- even The William Tell Overture (theme from the Long Ranger--High Ho Silver! And Away!!!) OMG--I am getting much too excited over this toy!
It plays each tune for a little while, too. The sound is very exciting, uplifting, peppy. Oh, and pretty colored lights flash while it is playing, too! I am sure any child would love it. The music is not annoying, either.
It comes ready to play. When the batteries wear out, it takes 2 AA/LR6 batteries. The Baby Einstein toys are Disney. The package says this toy "encourages music discovery, hand-eye coordination, together time fun, and sound discovery". With classics by Mozart, Vivaldi, Rossini, and Chopin, it is a pretty cool baby-ipod (well, sorta).
Where were these neat toys when I was a kid!!!

This really is a a "must have" for a baby/toddler. I purchased one as a gift for a 2 month old baby. The The next year at Christmas he had it with him and his parents raved about how it was the best toy they every received! I purchased a few more for friends an they said the same.
One of these friends purchased one for me when I had a baby and it has truly been a life saver. This can occupy a baby when nothing else can. We make sure we bring it with us for every outing. It's great to have in the car and has saved us in stores and restaurants a number of times.
We started using it when our daughter was a few weeks old and we still use it now that she i 6 months old. She could be screaming crying and I pull this out and she immediately stops crying and stares at the lights and listens to the music. The songs are not annoying and it has 2 volume settings. It also has an off switch so it doesn't turn on in your diaper bag/etc. We have yet to replace the battery and it has been used daily for 6 months.
I just can't express how great this toy is! Definitely a life saver!

When I first got this toy and opened it up, I thought to myself, "$10 for this? It's so lightweight and it only has one button!" I was expecting the handle to be more chewy, but it's just hard plastic.
So I pushed the button, expecting for my ears to be assaulted like many other children's toys do. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised! It seems that many toys feel like the louder and more obnoxious they can make something, the better. The music on this toy is much less "harsh," almost as if it were an annoying toy sitting on top of a pillow to mute some of those ear-splitting notes.
The songs are great and cheerful. They make use of more than one instrument (and I use that word loosely!) The lights that play with the songs are bright, but not too bright. The lightweighedness that I originally was a little disappointed in is perfect for a baby. I still wish the handle was chewy.
Overall I really feel this is an excellent toy. The colors, sounds, and lights are engaging for my 7 month old, and it's not a toy that will get "accidentally lost" like some of the louder, more annoying ones.

I don't do a lot of product reviews but, being a new mom of a now 7-month old, I probably should. We've got every gadget and toy known to mankind. About this toy...my daughter actually has 3 of them. Yes, 3 of them! There is 1 at Nana's house, 1 in the diaper bag, and 1 in her play area. That is how much she loves this toy. We were out browsing around one day and I had forgotten to bring along any entertainment for her (hence how toy #2 was purchased). I saw this and turned it on just to show her, as I often do with toys to see if/how she reacts. She lit up immediately. She smiled her huge smile, patted her hands, made her sounds...she made her wants clear! Toy #3 was actually ordered off Amazon (prior to the purchase of toy #2) because I knew how much she loved the one at Nana's house. It's actually NOT an annoying toy at all as many of those that make music and light up can be. The lights are enjoyable for her and the music is actually quite nice. And now that she's teething she quite enjoys gnawing on the caterpillar! So...yes, I highly recommend this product. Cheap entertainment that does the trick!Customer Review: Beautiful music! My 8 month old daughter LOVES this.
When you push the multi-color button on the front, a BEAUTIFUL classical song plays (not annoying or sharp sounding, very gentle and soothing), and every time you push it, a different one plays (there seem to be a lot of songs as well!). When the music plays, different colored lights flash across the "screen" in beat with the music. There are 2 volume options and an Off feature which is wonderful to save batteries!
My daughter loves chewing on the handle, looking at the lights, and hearing the music. She also likes banging it against other hard surfaces and it has held up perfectly!
I love it because it's not the typical obnoxious, sharp sounding music that most baby toys emit piercing your ears. This one truly does have a beautiful sound to it. I can't even say that enough! It was such a refreshing change. I love it and take it everywhere. Great for travel as well!
Please get this! Your ears will thank you!
