Baby Products Reviews of Baby Einstein Neptune SootherCustomer Review: Love the 25 minute play, however a little too bright Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this for my 3rd child. I have pretty much every crib soother on the market. I was drawn to this one because of the long music play-25 minutes. 10 minutes of music, motion and lights, followed by 10 minutes of softer music, lights with no motion and then followed by 5 minutes of soft music with no lights or motion. Every other soother we had the music was under 10 minutes and baby would not be asleep yet and would be frustrated when it turned off. This works great at nap time. However at night, and especially in the middle of the night, the light is way too bright. It practically blinds my baby when it gets turned on. It looks like he is in a tanning bed. If they was a way to turn down the light, then the soother would have gotten 5 stars from me.
Customer Review: Great when it works Summary: 2 Stars
Before purchasing, I read reviews on this soother and was worried about the bad reviews that said it stopped working after a short while. Then I saw others who commented on those reviews and stated they just needed to change the batteries as indicated in the directions. I bought this soother sure that I would be happy with it if I did as the others suggested. Well, when it came we took out the batteries that came with it and put the ones as directed. It worked for a few weeks then all of a sudden just wouldn't play or would play but sound creepy. I can't imagine the batteries are dead already (4 C's) when it really wasn't used much and only for a few weeks. I'd say try something else if you're shopping.
Customer Review: What a piece of Junk! Summary: 1 Stars
I requested this as a baby gift because it was a Baby Einstein product. I have been so frustrated with it. The battery compartment needs to be fixed - the batteries keep buckling no matter how many ways I try to get them to lay down. If the batteries don't fit, the product doesn't work. I keep having to hit it to jar the batteries in place, and that only works about 10% of the time. I never know when I turn it on if it will work or not. My toddler loves to watch the fish go around, but even she is upset when it doesn't work. I bought a Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium which has always worked and hasn't sucked up the battery life like the Baby Einstein product. I would not recommend this product to anyone!
Customer Review: Don't waste your money! Summary: 1 Stars
This toys goes through batteries faster than anything I've ever seen! I am replacing the batteries in this thing constantly and they aren't the cheaper ones- they are C's. I've owned an ocean wonder with a previous kid and I recommend that one by far! It's not fun having to get up at 3 in the morning because your baby can't sleep because the stupid toy ran out of battery power. It's hard enough waking up all the time with a baby at night, but add a faulty toy in the mix and it will make you want to chuck the toy through a window! Sorry for the anger- it's 3 in the morning! PS- also, very bright, and it started making this weird noise after a few months. Don't Buy!
Customer Review: Awful. Just Awful Summary: 1 Stars
I purchased this crib soother for my 19 month old because he likes sleeping to music. I thought this would be a way for him to take control of when he wants it. He had no trouble operating the device himself however the music it plays is harsh, tinny, and so loud even on the low setting that no one could possibly sleep to it. His room is on the clear opposite end of the house from my bedroom and yet I could still hear it. Instead of soothing him to sleep it kept all of us awake. We had it one week and he slept terribly every single night until I took it out and returned it. Look for something with softer music that plays for a shorter amount of time. Don't buy this one.
