As of today Aug 4, 10 this Baby Einstein baby photo book is $29.95
Even though I got it a year ago at Babies R Us-- for $7, it shouldn't be much different.
I can't review about the plastic, since my baby have never chew any chewing toys. But for its design is definitely for baby to chew on the handle. My baby is a big fan of Baby Einstein, so he flips the book every day to look at his own and daddy/mommy photos. Cute stuff that I plan to keep for him as a keepsake.

I have an email into Kids II to confirm, but I think this product is made of toxic PVC and SHOULD NOT be handled and chewed on by babies. I was given one as a gift, and I started thinking twice about letting my baby chew on it after I got a whiff from the inside of the book (off-gassing). After all the media publicity on toxic PVC shower curtains, I can't believe no one seems concerned about babies chewing the same material!Customer Review: satisfactory

Overall I was satisfied. It is a cute baby book and the pictures fit well. However my particular book had stray markings on the cover and inside the pocket on the cover that I had to remove with nail polish remover. Most of it came off, a little bit smudged and wasn't removed completely. A little disappointing. I bought this book for use at our house when our little 10 month old great granddaughter comes over for a visit. I have pictures of her with her dad and mom and our two pet dogs. She loves the photo book and carries it around with her. It is just the right size. The album is colorful, and serves it purpose well being all plastic... As written in other reviews, the pictures are safely inserted into slips which are hard for baby to remove... BTW, i was looking for an album with more pics, but i realised: we dont need everyone's pic in here... I just wish it didnt have chinese letters all over the cover!
