Baby Products Reviews of Baby Einstein Baby's Photo BookCustomer Review: OK, But not great. Summary: 3 Stars
My biggest problem with this photo album is that it really only holds 4 legitimate (4X6 unobstructed) pictures. One of the 6 advertised slots is for a small wallet photo on the front, and the other one is a 4X6 slot on the back cover. This slot wouldn't be a problem, except that whoever gets put there will have "Baby Einstein" written across their face. I wanted an album to put mom, dad, 2 grandparent sets, and one sibling. Even this small group of photos will not really work out using this album.
My other issue is that the handle looks a lot like a teething ring, but really isn't. My daughter hasn't started teething yet, but when she does, I expect for this handle to break apart.
One small problem (just to nit-pick) is that the animals drawn on each page really restrict the photos to landscape format instead of portrait, but that doesn't bother me too much.
All that being said, it is sturdy. Each vinyl slot has a little extra tab that wraps around the photo, and keeps it nice and dry in case of over-excited drooling. I haven't had any problems with the pages sticking together, and the characters are cute but not too distracting from the actual photos.
Customer Review: Perfect Baby Gift Summary: 5 Stars
My standard first Christmas gift for my kids is a photo album of favorite people. This is by far the best album. The top is a little carry handle the child can chew on. The pages are adorable, and there are little flaps that ensure the pictures won't slip out. The album is plastic, so of course the pictures kind of stick to the pages, but we're not talking acid-free quality photo stuff, it is something a baby can beat up and chew on. There are little Einstein characters on each page your kid can probably recognize from the videos. We fill each of our books with pictures of Mommy & Daddy, siblings, grandparents, etc., and this one has a little slot on the front that is perfect for a close-up of the baby. Everyone just flipped over it, much more so than the cloth ones we've used in the past (which, by the way, had places to write in them and the ink ran when it got slobbered on).
Customer Review: Cute book, but plastic is weird. Summary: 4 Stars
Got this for my son's 1st birthday. The pages have fold-over flaps that make it virtually impossible for baby to get the pictures out. The graphics are cute and all pages are meant for horizontal photos except the little one on the cover. The Little Einstein logo on the back back does NOT obscure the photo as someone else stated. It is under the photo. The plastic pages did have a strong smell at first (like a new vinyl shower curtain) so if that concerns you, don't buy this. Also, some of the printing on the cardboard display wrap came off on the cover and I can't scrub it off for anything. The handle does NOT have liquid in it and seems sturdy - someone else said it looked like it would break easily and I don't feel that way at all. This book is a good value for the $.
Customer Review: good buy Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this for my child who was about 6 months old at the time. He is now 8 months old. I placed pictures of him with different relatives in each slot. He doesn't seem to acknowledge the identity of the people in the pictures, but he enjoys chewing on the handle and the pages. It seems very durable and they took good care in designing the slots the pictures go in, so that the picture cannot be damaged/chewed on. I looked at quite a few products like this before purchasing this one and I have no regrets. I'm sure he will eventually recognize the people in the pictures, and it is nice to be able to personalize a toy in this manner.
Customer Review: Great Comfort Item Summary: 5 Stars
My 21 month old son has had this album since he was seven months old, has played with it daily and it has survived in excellent condition. He chews on it, throws it, and sleeps with it; the photos are very well protected. The thing I liked best about this album was watching my son progress from pointing out the cute animals to learing the sounds they make as well as thier colors, and then to recognizing the people in the photographs. This has become my son's comfort object. He sleeps with it, takes it to daycare, and had to have it during a short stay in the hospital. It is easy to clean and for that, I am very pleased.
