We got this as a gift when my son had just about outgrown his car seat. It was cute and he would look at while driving, but to get him in and out of the seat I had to remove it, otherwise it would smack him in the head. Eventually I took it off and tied it to his high chair, where it was great fun until I tried to clean it, now it only works occassionally. But he still likes to hear the songs.Customer Review: too much for an infant seat toy.

I bought this when I was in an overzealous toy buying mood. When attached to an infant car seat, I makes it hard to put baby in and take baby out. Its too high for an infant to really play with and our pediatrician and child car seat inspectors told us that the hard plastic is dangerous if we were to get into a car accident. I loved the concept of this toy, but when I got it home I relized that it hung right where I carry my baby. When I carry the baby in the infant carrier, I hook my arm under the bar and carry it in the crook of my arm, and this toy kept me from being able to get my arm there comfortably. Great item. Our baby (3 months) was pitching a fit in his car seat until I hit the music button and bingo! he was all ears and eyes on this toy. The music is tolerable for adults and soothing for our baby. Just wish the little cut-outs inside did something or that it was outfitted with a light to see them better. Otherwise, a good deal for what it does - keeps baby occupied.

Those who complain this toy doesn't fit well onto a car seat - it shouldn't be there in the first place, at least not while your child is in a car. Also, it says in car seat manuals that the car seat handle has to be all the way in the down position. Think about it, and it makes sense.
So the problem is not with the toy bar, but with the incorrect way it is being used.
