Customer Review: Ah, so it happens to everyone!

I'm not sure why the same product is listed three times, but here's my review on the other listing:
My son is ten weeks old as of this writing. We received this activity gym as a shower gift and began using it sparingly when he was a couple of weeks old (he wasn't too interested in it yet). The good news is that in the last few weeks, it's come to be his favorite thing. It's just about the only thing that gives me any ability to put him down during the day and, say, eat a snack. But I suppose I should be using the past tense, because as of yesterday, the music on the star stopped playing. Same story as the others. A few days ago, the music got raspy. Then it stopped. I changed the batteries. The music started again then quit after half a day. Now, after numerous battery changes, it's a no go. My son has almost no interest in the mat now without the music. I've emailed Baby Einstein, so I'm hoping to get a replacement star that will hopefully hold for a few more weeks until I'll probably have to write them again. I suppose in the meantime, I will keep my eyes out for a more durable activity gym.
Bottom line is, I'm glad it was a gift and we didn't blow fifty bucks on this. I like the activity gym concept, since obviously - when working - my baby is entertained and stimulated by it, but I'm going to be scouring reviews carefully to find one that works for more than a few weeks.
Customer Review: Fun mat, needs a little work

This mat serves its purpose - entertaining my son. Since he was 2 weeks old we've laid him on the mat during the day for tummy time and to play on his own. He is now 3 months old and he seems to like the mat more now than at first.
Pros:
1. He loves the star, which lights up and plays music. It plays for a few minutes and has 2 sound settings or just a light up setting. It can be detached and taken in the car or wherever he needs it.
2. It comes with a few toys to bat at: a bird with bells, a bird that squeaks, a dog and duck picture, a soft sun and a mirror.
3. Easily washed in the washing machine.
4. Great for tummy time.
Cons:
1. I don't know if it's just my son's attention span but he does get bored of this pretty quickly. I have to rearrange the toys every day to keep his interest, but even I get bored of it after a little while.
2. For the price I think there are better activity mats out there. Some of the other ones from Fisher Price look like a lot more fun.
Overall I've been satisfied with this mat but I wouldn't say it's an absolute must have baby product. Maybe a few more toys and the design on the mat itself is just plain boring.
Customer Review: Amazing gym but the star stopped working!

I should of read the reviews on amazon before purchasing this toy on babies r us. I was suprised to read that several other people had trouble with their stars. My two month old son loves this mat, he constantly plays with it and kicks his little feet to the music. He is so entranced by the star, it actually calms him down when he is in a cranky mood, which is hard to do, his 90 dollar swing won't even do it. So you can imagine I was so upset when my baby's favorite toy stopped working. I called them and they told me they are on backorder and wouldn't be in until the end of march and by that time he will almost be over four months and will grow out of the mat. So they sent us another toy star that wasn't as good but it was a cute toy all the same. Now, I just hang all his toys on the mat and he kicks them around and he is just as happy. He still loves the mat but he misses the star because he keeps looking up at it, waiting for it play. I am tempted to get another one just for him but it would be a waste of money because it will stop working too probably.Customer Review: Lame.

Seriously? They charge $60 for this thing?!? The fabric, while easy to clean, is a cheap, synthetic material. The toys are included are also cheap and not that great. Plus, by the time my daughter was able to reach them, she wasn't really interested in them anymore. The star is definitely entertaining, but you could easily just buy a pretty-lights-and-music toy and set it on a blanket. I had more success entertaining my 4-month-old with a colorful quilt and some toys thrown on it. I'm surprised by this, because other Baby Einstein products that we own are quality products with stimulating and well-made toy attachments. But this product is just lame. I bought this 3 months ago. worked great and the kids really liked it and had a lot of fun. The star was the best part of this item.
after 45 days or so, the music stopped from the star. only the lights worked inconsistently.
When i called baby Einstein customer service they said they knew about the problem and that they will send us a replacement. We did not get anything for 4 weeks. so the customer service soured the experience. we called 3 times(The last time was today) and we were promised that we will get the replacement soon. I read reviews before i bought this and probably should have given more credence to the reviews.
