After hearing all the good news about these plates, I decided to dish out the money for them. Instead of being thrilled, I have become more and more disappointed with them. My son picked them up and threw them on the floor. They now have cracks down the middle of them. They are way too easy to crack. However, the spoons are wonderful. These say they are dishwasher and microwave safe, but they are made from type 7 plastic, and a lot of research shows this type of plastic leaches a toxic chemical when heated. The couple seemed very happy to get this as it was on their registry at a baby store and 'sold out'. Tracked it down on Amazon. Seems pricy to me, that's what makes it a great gift. we got this for our son when he was 8 or 9 months old and it's been wonderful. the spoon is easy for him to hold and use and the bowl is perfect. he's 11 months old now and almost feeding himself. we couldn't be more pleased with this excellent product.Customer Review: awesome, awesome, awesome!

THis plate is wonderful. It works as well as it claims, but I actually love the spoons the most. They are the perfect fit for small hands. My four year old still loves them and my 20 month old has been using them for some time.
