Baby Products Reviews of BABYBJÖRN Baby Carrier Original - Black, ClassicCustomer Review: Bets carrier on the market!! Summary: 5 Stars
When I was pregnant with my daughter, everyone told me how horrible the Baby Bjorn was for the baby and on your back. So I looked into other carriers and the one that recieved 5+ star reviews (and was about $150) was the Ergo Baby Carrier; my sister had had one when my two nephews were little and it was great! She ordered me one as a gift and I HATED IT!!!! It was so big and bulky that I only used it once and it was trying it on! I then went without a carrier, but my daughter had bad gas when she was younger so we would get tired of holding her. My husband brought home one of these Baby Bjorn Carriers and it saved our lives! She loved to be in it and it was not painful on our backs at all! Our daughter is now 11 months and we still use it, she is only like 16 lbs, and she still loves it! Her face lights up when she sees it because she knows she is headed out on the town! Thanks Baby Bjorn for making this great product!
Customer Review: needs a waist strap Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this item for my 11 week old who weighs 12 lb since it has gotten such great reviews and I was looking for a forward facing carrier. I must say that I am a bit disappointed with it. First it sits too high on the chest making it easy for his head to hit my chin when facing outward. Also this is a carrier that one cannot nurse with, unfortunately, when facing inward. But most irksome is the stress that it places upon my back. I am a fit, active woman of average height who has never had an issue with my back- not even during pregnancy but this carrier makes my mid to upper back tired and strained. I also have an Ergo carrier which is very comfortable but is only an inward facing carrier. The Ergo has a hefty waist strap that bears all the weight leaving the shoulders free of strain. The Bjorn carrier is probably great for the first 2 months but I can't imagine carrying a 15 or 20 lb infant in it.
Customer Review: Love this carrier Summary: 5 Stars
I was happy to receive this as a gift off my registry. My daughter is only 3 months old, so I tend to prefer using my stroller, but there are times when the bjorn is the only way to go. There are times when your baby won't want to be in the stroller, but you don't have the option of picking baby up. With the carrier, your baby gets the comfort of being held close to you and you still have your hands free. If you worry how a squirmy baby will handle it, I can tell you that my daughter is not a fan of having her movements limited, (swaddling didn't last long). But she is fine in the carrier... very calm.
If I had to find a down side it would be that my daughter is like a radiator and having her strapped to me can get sweat rolling down my back. So if you are going somewhere where it is important to not have a wet shirt, you may want to bring something to change into when you reach your destination.
Customer Review: Great once they can face out Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this product when my son was 2 months old, and we were traveling. My son didn't like it until he hit 4 months. He could never get comfortable when he wanted to sleep. We always ended up taking him out and holding him. He LOVES it now that he has head control and can face outward. I don't go anywhere without it now. He's now a wiggler when we hold him, but not when he's in this. He loves to look at everything and everyone, and being in it keeps him entertained. Shopping used to be a nightmare, because he hated being in his car seat or in a stroller. It's not a problem anymore. When we're shopping, he likes to reach out and explore the things that I'm looking at.It's just easier to shop and entertain hom using this. This product has been a life saver for us. We can finally go out and about without him getting upset. Based on my experience, I recommend it for once child is able to face outward.
Customer Review: My New Best Friend! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the greatest product known to man! Never needed a carrier much with the first two children because I always had an extra hand. But when when I had 3 children in under 3 years, I needed something for the baby but still wanted two free hands to help my other two children. I had bought a carrier type thing with baby #1 for fun but it had lots of straps and took 2 people and a long time just to put the baby in it. So my friend told me about the Baby Bjorn. So I bought one and the baby's been in it ever since! She loves it! She has a fussy time at night so I put her in it and clean up the house, do the dishes, etc and she's perfectly content! When I go to the grocery store with the kids, I can't fit 3 in a cart so she stays with me in the baby bjorn and I still have 2 free hands to grocery shop and deal with my kids! It's really an awesome product so pay the extra and get this carrier!
