Customer Review: A little piece of advice!!!

I also have an electric pump that I use on a daily basis at work, however, we travelled to Europe and the electric one was way too bulky to take and also would need an adapter to plug it in there. I packed this one instead. It was no problem to pump bottles using this pump. It assembles and diassembles easily, making cleanup a breeze. I pumped and stored into the VIA cups and although I am not using the Avent bottles, it was not that hard to pour the expressed milk into another bottle. I only have one piece of advice (the reason for four stars)...if you are a larger cup size, you may want to wet your breast with a washcloth first before you attach the pump. You will get better suction and therefore a better pumping experience! Good luck!Customer Review: Don't even waste your time!

I was incredibly disappointed with this pump! The Ameda hand pump that they gave me at the hospital worked MUCH faster!
After one use of the Isis pump, it lost suction, I re-read the manual and even replaced parts with the spares it came with, nothing!
It is absolutely not a time-saver. I though that I would try it and see if it did work as fast as it claimed and if it didn't, I hadn't lost that much money and would then buy an electric pump. Well, it didn't work and I ended up buying an electric pump. Also, with the Isis, you can only pump one breast at a time and with an electric you can do both or only one. It only takes me 6 minutes with an electric pump.
I wasted my money, don't waste yours.

The Isis Pump is the best. It takes a little effort at first. What I found was you are very unsuccessful if you don't use it correctly and have it assembled correctly. Rythmic pumping WITHOUT depressing the handle all the way works best--you have to experiment with positioning to get the best suction, it should not hurt if you are doing it correctly. Try pumping directly into bottles if you can instead of the storage containers-which can leak if not assembled correctly--Like the other reviewer I lost 7 ounces on the floor at 5am that way:( Finally, if I use it more than once in a day I store it in the fridge so I don't have to worry about cleaning it--then I just clean it the next day. Then I boil it once a week.

I have xtra large breasts and I could maybe get 2 ounces out of both sides when I used this pump- I also have an electric medela that I am borrowing fron the health dept.- all states want to promote breast feeding, so they buy the nice pumps and we get to borrow them- great idea- I would get up to 5 ounces from one breast in like ten minutes. with the crazy bottle things that this particular one has- I've heard that if you freeze your milk in it- it takes hours to de thaw, I actaully use nice thick ziplock freezer bags and de thaw under warm water- it works great- anyways if you can't afford a nice electric breast pump try to borrow one from the health dept, breast feeding is so good for your child-Customer Review: Great for a working Mommy

This is the best pump I've found. I bought the top-of-the-line Medela electric pump, and found myself taking at least 30 minutes to pump 8 ounces of milk--to my boss's dismay! Plus, it was loud and cumbersome. I bought the ISIS, and can pump 8 ounces in about 10 minutes. It's quick, clean, and efficient. I, too, had the little bit of noise occasionally, but if you moisten the area of the pump handle which fits on the valve, you'll have no noise at all. One reviewer mentioned spilling milk all over herself--I don't see how unless she dumped it upside-down! I would definitely recommend this to every nursing mommy that will take the time to learn how to use it properly!
