Customer Review: A love affair has begun...

We received the angel dear monkey as a gift and introduced this to our baby at 3 months old. It was love at first snuggle. Our baby is now 7 months old and the love affair has not waned. Our baby chews, drools, snugs on this monkey and it is magic for bedtime or anytime when a meltdown ensues. Perhaps it's so awesome because it's the best of both worlds being a half blanket / half stuffed animal. Whatever it is, it is magical. Agree with previous posts that you should get more than one and introduce them all at the same time. A month later when we realized our little one wasn't going to give up snugging the monkey we ordered a second one in case of emergencies. However there is no foolin' our baby -- even at 4 months old, our little babe dropped the imposter monkey like a hot potato!!
This is a MUST GET ITEM for any baby. Cannot recommend more highly....I would give 10 stars if I could!!!

Cotton vs. Polyester:
Polyester is produced entirely from chemical sources, a polymer produced from coal, air, water, and petroleum products. Cotton/polyester blend is commonly used for beddings. Although easier to care for, it takes away the 'coolness' from cotton and also added a "pilling" effect.
Cotton fibers are harvested from seed pods of the cotton plant. 100% Cotton fabrics are highly recommended for they are natural and cool. Cotton fibers absorb and release perspiration quickly, thus allowing fabrics to "breathe". Being highly absorbent with wet strength, it can withstand frequent washing at high temperature.
It's the best fabric for babies and children because they cause less irritation to a baby's delicate skin.

So I was looking for a blankie for my son. His room is monkeys so I thought this would be great; however, I was expecting a blanket sized item (My fault really because I clearly did not understand what 14" x 14' would look like). I expected a blanket and got a washcloth. My son does not use it to hold or play with. This will not be used in our house; well, I will probably use it as a fun washcloth. But he will not use it for the purpose intended.
For people who know what a "lovey" is (and that is what you are looking for) then this product will not disappoint. It is a quality item, soft and well made. The monkey is cute and the fabric is durable. It is simply not what I was looking for.

My older son has the giraffe and I just ordered the monkey for the baby. I don't know what it is about these particular animal-heads-on-a-blanket, but they are like sleep candy for kids. My older son is 4 and still sleeps with the giraffes and I see the baby headed in this direction too. They are super soft and hold up really well. I have a friend who bought us the first one and said her kids fall right to sleep so she buys them for everyone she knows!! I do the same now and have lots of friends HOOKED! Just make sure you buy more than one...if you lose the first one a back-up is a MUST!! Awesome product.Customer Review: Monkey Lovey makes everything better.

My 15 month old daughter recieved one of these as a shower gift and it's been with her from birth on. For over 10 months we only had one "monkey" as it's now called (we have since bought 3 more). The lovey has stood up to repeated washings (3-4 in a week at sometimes) and has replaced her need for a pacifier. The blankie is an excellent product and I will gladly be giving out other angel dear animal blankies as shower gifts. My only problem with the blankie is that it has retained a sour smell due to my daughter constantly chewing and sucking on it.
