Customer Review: A few flaws, but overall a good toy box
Summary: 4 Stars
My son got this as an early first birthday present. (He's 10 1/2 months old now) The first thing we noticed is that there were two screws missing. It still went together fine, we left out the screws on the sides of the large bin and I don't see any need for them anyway.
The second problem is that it's rather topheavy. Even full of toys it's easy for my son to pull it over on himself. We put a couple of bricks in the back wrapped in a blanket to stabilize it.
Third, the pieces are held together by plastic strips in shipping. When you break the pieces off, sharp points are left that we had to file down. I suppose using a box cutter would have solved this, but we didn't think about it at the time.
The lid also comes right off, most of the time it comes off when I just try to open it. My husband is looking for a solution, but for now we just leave the lid off most of the time.
All in all though, even with the problems, this is a good toybox and I think it will last quite a while. Do pay attention to the measurements though, because it is smaller than we thought it would be.
