Customer Review: flows too fast for a newborn, fine for 10 month old

I purchased this for my newborn son, and even though it said that it was for 0-3 months, the flow was too fast for him, and he gagged on the milk. We had to abandon it, and tried a bunch of other bottles, eventually going for the playtex nurser system (with the disposable liners). Perhaps it will work for him now that he's a little bit older, but we haven't tried since he's hooked on the other system. The good part is that it's BPA free, unlike the Avent bottles (which are also cluttering our drawer).
UPDATE: We did end up using this as our go-to bottle when our baby was about 10 months. But it wasn't until then that he could handle the flow.

The ingenuity of this product is great. I had no problems with leaking. I was a little surprised at how firm the plastic is that the nipple is formed out of. I thought it would be a lot softer. It is harder than regular bottle nipples and way harder than the breast. I think that my 3mo old would be a little more fooled if it was just a little softer... But either way, my daughter just loves her milk to come from mommy. She won't even swallow the milk that comes out of other bottles and with the Adiri Natural Nurser, she'll at least drink about 1/2-1 ounce. She is just a girl who knows what she wants! I have an older version of the Natural Nurser that I purchased when my 2 year old was an infant. I tried to use it with my new little one (now almost 5 months) but he kept gagging. The only time he uses a bottle is if I'm not around and that's not too often, so he's used to working for his milk. The slow flow of the 0-3 month version of this Natural Nurser has been the answer to the gagging problem. All the grandparents love it - they have told me what a great improvement it is and that he takes the bottle without a fuss. I figure I'll just add a hole if he needs a faster flow as he grows - but for now, this one has really been great!Customer Review: Worst design imaginable

The nipple seems like the most lifelike design out there, but everything else is like the winning competition for worst bottle ever. Bottom loading, so it has to be nipple down to load. The "top" fits very tight around the sides for no good reason, making it impossible to get off without accidentally opening the bottle and spilling milk everwhere, and the "top" leaks because it closes poorly around the nipple, so there's no avoiding spilling. The graduations for the volume are stupidly done from the bottom, so you have to have the "top" on to use them, but they are too light to be read through the "top"! This bottle was a lifesaver when my youngest daughter refused any bottles! I was exclusively breastfeeding, but was in school 2 nights a week. This was the only bottle my daughter would take. Some people talk about it being messy, but it's especially simple for breast milk. You heat the milk, put a clean finger over the nipple, turn it over, pour the milk in and screw the bottom on. We never really had issues with it being messy. I HIGHLY recommend this item! I also think it would be good if someone is unable to breastfeed in the hospital for some reason.
