Baby Products Reviews of Adiri BPA Free Natural Nurser Ultimate Bottle Stage 1 White, Slow Flow (0-3 months)Customer Review: Excellent for the picky baby Summary: 5 Stars
This bottle is wonderful for picky or fussy feeders, and has saved me quite a bit of frustration with my little one.
My breasfed daughter took to the bottle fairly quickly at one month old, but started rejecting them two weeks later. Bottles that she had previously taken without problem (Nuk and the Playtex Drop-ins) were pushed away over and over. After a week's worth of crying fits at feeding time, I ordered the Adiri bottle, and although it did take a couple days for her get used to it, she has been taking it now for a month with almost no fuss. She's even started getting excited when she sees it, because she knows it's feeding time!
I have had no problems with the bottle itself leaking, and the design and material have held up under daily use and washings. She does tend to dribble quite a bit while drinking (more so than with the previous bottles), but a bib takes care of that mess.
As far as I'm concerned, this bottle has been a sanity-saver.
Customer Review: SOOOO Helpful for stubborn breastfeeders Summary: 5 Stars
This bottle is amazing - no other way to put it. I had surgery when my daughter was a week old, and she took her Avent bottles just fine for about three days. She is now 3 1/2 months old and I have been pulling my hair out for the last month trying to get her to take a bottle. I've tried breastmilk, formula, a combination, Avent, Avent disposables, Dr Brown's, Dr Brown's wideneck, Medela, Playtex VentAir, and she hated all of them. She would scream for five hours before she'd even consider taking a bottle. The first time the Adiri Natural Nurser hit her lips, she took it. We were shocked and figured it must have been a fluke, but no - she likes this bottle!!! She still prefers mommy, but she's going to day care soon and needs to adjust. I would highly recommend that anyone struggling to get their little one to take a bottle try this. Buy one and give it a shot - it has saved my sanity and I no longer worry about my baby! PLUS - being BPA free - even better.
Customer Review: Not for me :-( Summary: 2 Stars
I received these bottles as a gift. I registered for them based on the recommendation of a friend, but my baby just hates them. When I try to feed her from them the milk or formula goes everywhere and she cries. I don't really think these are as similar to the breast as the description suggests. Also, I found them a bit difficult to use because they leak from the top (the nipple) and the bottom (the vent). If you want to set them down, you have to put the cover over the nipple or have a warming cap (sold separately) for the bottom. I much prefer the MAM bottles. I am breastfeeding and supplementing with formula, and my baby seems to really like the MAM nipples. The five-ounce, anti-colic MAM bottles have six pieces, which is a bit of a pain, but there are times when my baby eats from them and doesn't even have to burp. If the multiple pieces are an inconvenience for you, the nine-ounce bottles are much easier. Regardless, the MAM bottles worked better for us.
Customer Review: worked well for us Summary: 4 Stars
I was very concerned about BPA levels in other bottles but was reluctant to go the glass route. Having bottle-fed my other 2 very infrequently and preferring to nurse as long as possible, I decided on the Adiri Natural Nurser. our daughter took expressed breast milk FROM ME without any hesitation and kept right on going with my husband or our sitter.
1) it does take some practice to get the hang of assembling it and my husband is much better at keeping it from leaking while upside down than I am.
2) our daughter is now formula only :-( and we don't warm her bottles, so this hasn't been a problem for us. With frozen milk, I would just defrost it separately.
3) Having the volume labeling "upside down" is a little bit of a hassle, but I have gotten good at gauging the level from the inside of the bottle
4) she did start refusing the white stage 1 bottle at about 4 months, but I switched to the blue stage 2 and she was fine.
Customer Review: sadly didn't work for my baby Summary: 2 Stars
We were looking for bottles my husband could use to feed our daughter with my expressed breast milk when I went back to work - I was worried about nipple confusion and thought these would help avoid that issue. These bottles seemed perfect to me, but my newborn couldn't use them. She did try, but she couldn't get very good suction. The rubber wasn't soft enough or the right shape for her. We then tried bornfree bottles and so far, so good. She seems to like them, and she doesn't seem to have too many problems going back and forth between the breast and the bottle. We did experience some of the leaking issues with Adiri when filling the bottles, but not too much was lost. It actually worked out for us that the baby like Bornfree better -- they are a little cheaper than the Adiri when purchased in multi-bottle packs. I strongly suggest you just buy one of these more expensive bottles until you are sure your baby likes them/can use them.
