For some reason the maker's of baby safety items don't think it's a problem if you leave your alarm clock unplugged all the time, while you have a baby safety plug stuck in your electrical sockets. I looked, unsuccessfully, everywhere in stores for a product like this before finding it here on Amazon. If you, too, would like to leave your alarm clock, phone base, etc plugged in, but keep little toddler fingers out of the electric sockets (or from unplugging your alarm clock), this is the product for you. With my older kids I had a sort of electrical cover with a hinged box that you could snap open and shut over electrical cords, but I like these better: They slide open and shut fairly easily so that you can plug something in temporarily, like a vacuum or laptop and still use the cover. The cord channel (in the bottom of the cover) is wide enough to accommodate two power cords, and most plugs fit fine under it. I have used it with quite large regular cords (our vacuum plug is pretty industrial sized), as well as smaller power supplies like those on our phone chargers. The only problem we have had with fit is very large power supply-type plugs. Our daughter is a very dexterous toddler who has figured out most drawer locks already, and she hasn't gotten these open yet, although she has devoted a goodly portion of time in contemplating it. I've even caught her trying to whack and pry at these covers with spoons and other objects and so far she has failed to get them open.
