Baby Products Reviews of 4moms Cleanwater Infant Bath Tub with Digital Thermometer

Customer Review: Good for newborn, but you grow out of it fast
Summary: 2 Stars

The positive:
We bought this tub, because we liked the clean water idea which it definitely delivers on. Suds, pee etc go down right away so you don't feel like your baby is sitting in dirty water. Our newborn fit snugly and didn't slip around too much. It was also nice to have the thermometer as nervous new parents.

The negative:
The way the tub is contoured as soon as your baby gets a little bigger his bum rests at what is basically the end of the tub and his feet come up on top of the bum rest. Unfortunately this means his feet are always out of the water and once he gets a little older he can't really splash. Additionally, our thermometer broke after a month of use and made this horrible beeping sound we couldn't get to stop for two days.

Our baby is 4 months and now we have to buy another tub. If I had it to do again I would have bought something that would have lasted longer. Especially for the price.

Customer Review: Awesome tub
Summary: 4 Stars

This tub is great! The thermometer feature alone makes it worth the price. I've been using it for 2.5 months so far and it works fine. The plugs hold well. The thermometer functions as described. I like that it takes the guesswork out of the bath temperature equation. My 15 pound son fits in it fine.

This would have been a 5 star review but this tub does not work in either of the tubs in my home. Both were installed in 2006 and I thought 1 was pretty standard. However, neither tub has a spout that reaches out far enough from the wall of the tub for the water to land in the Cleanwater Tub. The Cleanwater Tub is too big for the kitchen sink. Luckily, we have a shower with a hand held shower head that reaches the Cleanwater Tub so that's where we bathe the baby. It's kind of a kluge solution but it gets the job done. Perhaps the Cleanwater Tub should come with a tube that could attach to spouts to direct the water to the temperature reservoir.

Customer Review: solid

Our son finally outgrew this tub at around 10.5 months -- but he's tall. Overall, the tub was great; like other reviewers, since there is some small room for improvement, I won't give it 5/5, but it was VERY good overall. It fit into our twin-basin sink perfectly. I thought it was strange at first that the water temperature was taken at the inlet channel, before the reservoir, which then overflowed into the main tub; but it worked out, although we kept the temp at the high end of the 'comfort' range, around 97-98, to account for the cooling and the cool air temperature at our place.

There are 3 drainage holes from the main tub -- the high one unsealed, the two other with grommets. The grommets are not perfectly waterproof, so the tub HAS TO BE IN A SINK OR TUB. We learned this the hard way.

This was so much better than the other tub that we bought, an adjustable EvenFlo thing that was impossible to put together.

Customer Review: A step up from other tubs
Summary: 5 Stars

We love this tub makes bathtime cleaner, safer, and easier.

With this tub you run the water continuously into a reservior area (which I assume moderates temperature changes). As the water flows into the tub it goes over a temperature sensor. If the temperature is too hot the display will turn red and beep. The water flows into the wash area and then out a hole in the side. The tub says it is designed to fit in double basin sinks, but we haven't tried that.

With our previous tub I would run the water continously anyway since I wanted to rinse my son with clean water, but then the tub would fill up to unsafe levels. Also, everytime you adjusted the water flow you'd have to carefully monitor the temperature to make sure it didn't get too hot.

We had the Fisher Price aquarium tub before and our son never fit in it correctly. He loves bathtime and this tub makes it so much less stressful.

Customer Review: Great idea!
Summary: 5 Stars

I saw this tub online and thought it would be a great idea. We have been so happy with this tub. My two month old daughter loves taking a bath and loves sitting in the tub after I am done washing her up. It is so nice to have a constant flow of warm water so I can let her stay in as long as she likes without worry of her getting cold. The tub fits perfectly in our standard double basin kitchen sink. The area where the baby sits is very roomy so I used a rolled up bath towel and put it on the side that doesn't have the overflow hole to keep my baby from slouching to one side. I also like that the thermometer beeps at you to get your attention when it reaches a hot temperature. I always have my eyes on my baby rather than the screen so that works great. I would say that the only downside is that the tub itself is a little large and I haven't found a good place to store it for easy access yet. Other than that the tub is perfect!
