Baby Products Reviews of 3 Pack Snack Trap (colors may vary)Customer Review: My toddler still uses his! Summary: 5 Stars
My son is THREE AND A HALF and is ALWAYS dropping his snacks, or tipping over the cup. He wont let me give them to him one at a time, nor will he except ANY help while trying to open a snack cup. These snack traps are GREAT! BUT it did take our little guy a few minutes to get the hang of it, Daddy had to show him, so I am guessing it would take even longer for a 12 month old to figure out... be patient, its worth it! We use it outdoors, INDOORS in the car, and just about everywhere. I fill it with cereals, goldfish, mini crackers, cheese, small fruits and veggies, and even popcorn! If he tips the cup and shakes it, food will come out (only 2-3 cheerios or something) or sometimes they get flicked up when the triangle pieces pop back into place. Of course they arent ideal for just throwing in the diaper bag, which is why I wish they came with "travel caps", or if BRU sold them separatly. Also, if you remove the lid (a bit tough to do) you can use the snack trap as a cup! Hes learning to drink from a regular cup, and with the two handles, it rocks! Also great for foods like jello and icecream (without the lids). Its easy to clean too. The only thing that annoys me is that BRU doesnt sell the different kind of covers, or many patterns, you have to purchase those off of SnackTrap.com... But... I love em', every parent needs to get them!
Customer Review: Takes a little time to learn, but works great! Summary: 5 Stars
When I first heard of these, I read the review that said you could make your own, so I did. But it didn't really work because not only did it take me quite a while to smooth all the points of the "wedges," but once my son started using it, the plastic didn't hold up at all. After flexing it back and forth for a couple days, the wedges started tearing and breaking and all the snacks poured out. I could see that I was going to have to make a new one every few days! So I broke down and bought the real snack traps and I'm glad I did! When my 15-month-old first tried them, he didn't like getting his hand caught in the lid and it took him a couple days of being very hungry for snacks and my helping him problem-solve to get to them. But after that, it's been smooth sailing. We are never without a snack cup when we go out. Yeah, a few snacks still manage to pop out, but I find that if I use bigger snacks like Annie's Bunnies or Goldfish, that happens less. Also, I only give it to him when he's hungry, so he's motivated not to drop snacks. I think if I gave it to him as a toy, he'd spend all his time trying to figure out how to get the lid off!
Customer Review: Perfect for use with strollers and shopping carts!! Summary: 5 Stars
You will love these snack traps!!! Don't let the reviews about the top coming off scare you! I've used these with all three of my children and only one of the kids has just now figured out to get it off. But I've found ways around that with just two pieces of masking tape.
The snack traps are best for use in strollers when out for walks or in shopping carts while running errands. I'm not a big fan of using the snack traps in the house or car because that seems to give my little ones (twins) too much time to figure out how to get ALL the snacks out of the snack trap. It's best to use them when you are within reach and can keep an eye on what's going on. I find they work best with "larger" snacks such as vanilla wafers or graham sticks. They do work with Cheerios's but as one review pointed out the Cheerios's can be shaken out of the snack trap by an aggressive little one looking for some messy fun... :-)
The snack traps work AWESOME with no throws. Just search on amazon under the word "no throw" and you will find a great way to keep the snack trap secure to the stroller or shopping cart.
Customer Review: Aren't you glad your a mom today... Summary: 5 Stars
What did our parents do besides clean up our messes? I mean really. I spent so much time cleaning up my Zachy's Cheerios and snackies before I got this cup. Just the other week, my mom spilled all of his snackies on the floor when opening one of his snack containers! I went the next day, Monday and bought one of these Snack Trap cups. Granted, it costs a good bit more than those little cups at a local Dollar Tree, but hey, isn't it worth it not to have to clean up after your little one AND the grandparents? ;-) Anyway, spend the extra dollars and get one!!! It is well worth the money. My little man got the hang of it after one showing. He loves to shake it and listen to the snackies inside, then he just reaches in that cute little hand and grabs a snack and just grins. He can take it all over the house and I don't have to go behind him with the vacuum. Now keep in mind, those Cheerios are small and sometimes they do come out, but only one to two at a time. Can't be 100% perfect, right? I highly recommend this cup for any mom or grandmom that is on the go or even just relaxing at home. 5 stars!
Customer Review: BUY IT!!! (Updated with new info about better product) Summary: 5 Stars
This is the greatest product ever. I'm buying a ton more for all the mommies I know. It's such a simple, wonderful idea. The materials are quality (soft, thick rubber and molded handels that are very sturdy). These snack cups have changed everything for my 13 month old. She is an independant snacker now, doesn't make a mess and loves the cups as much as any of her toys.
I'm thrilled.
Update: They now make an equivalent to the Snack Trap and sell it at local stores (like Target and Babies R Us). I prefer this new one. It comes in nicer colors (purple, lime green, orange) and the tops are harder to get off. The snack trap tops ended up looking very dirty (kind of yellowed) after a bunch of runs through the dishwasher. Also, the designs on the cups wore off very quickly and unevenly. I still think it's a great invention and appreciate how much it helped us, but I think the newer designed cups are better (they also have a rubber "no-slip" bottom). Also, they are the same price but you don't have to pay shipping.
